Chicago Mayor Rallies for Minnesota Anti-Ice Protesters While Ignoring Windy City Violence

Mayor Johnson's attention is always elsewhere
Mayor Brandon Johnson braved the frigid cold weather in Grant Park on Saturday as extreme leftists rallied to support anti-ICE agitators in Minnesota even as he completely ignores the hundreds of black Chicagoans being murdered every year in his own city.
Ever the pandering insurrectionist, Johnson dutifully scowled over the temerity of federal law enforcement agents daring to enforce bipartisan and decades-old immigration laws, and along with the rotund Gov. JB Pritzker, yelped about "disbanding ICE."
Johnson is likely horrified the nation has moved on from the anti-American protesters in Chicago who had been the toast of the media for opposing Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) and Customs and Border Protection (CPB) in Broadview and elsewhere in the city, as all focus has shifted toward Minneapolis.
But with the nation paying attention to Minneapolis, Johnson apparently felt he had to do something to try and get back in the spotlight. Thus, his Saturday march to Grant Park. Never get between a radical, race-baiting, Democrat politician and a camera.
In his comments over the weekend before the rally, the mayor called for ICE to be "abolished" after an anti-ICE insurrectionist was shot and killed while tussling with police in Minneapolis.
"One day after hundreds of thousands took to the streets to remind us of our shared humanity, ICE murdered another innocent person in Minneapolis. We are praying for the victim and their loved ones," Johnson wrote on social media. “When they come for one of us, they come for all of us. ICE must be abolished."
At the rally, he continued his anti-ICE ranting: "I send this message to Minneapolis. Chicago stands with Minneapolis. We stand with your country to defend the honor of working people. Black people, brown people..." And on and on he went.
But while his heart is bleeding for the protesters in Minneapolis and decrying the violence there, Johnson is completely ignoring the years of violence in his own city.
For instance, according to HeyJackass, 362 Chicagoans were shot and killed among 1,954 shootings in 2025. Indeed, we are only 29 days into the new year and the Windy City already has 110 shootings and 24 dead. Where is Brandon Johnson to speak so passionately about this constant blood bath in his own city?
Apparently nowhere. And he's never been anywhere on the constant violence in this city. He rarely even mentions it.
It seems he has no passion — or compassion — for the victims of violence in Chicago. And it's shameful.
